Syracuse's next test is on Saturday at 5 p.m. when Notre Dame comes to the Carrier Dome.

Syracuse is up to No. 10 in this week’s Inside Lacrosse poll, marking the first time in three weeks the Orange has risen in the rankings.

SU (4-3, 2-0 Atlantic Coast) took home another one-goal victory on Saturday afternoon at Koskinen Stadium, downing then-No. 3 Duke (8-2, 0-1), 15-14. Jamie Trimboli, who scored the game-winner in overtime last year against the Blue Devils, recovered a loose ball before scoring to put SU up for good with 1:14 left. The result was a three-spot jump to No. 10 and the Orange clinching a berth for the ACC Tournament.

A week after turning the ball over a season-worst 22 times, Syracuse worked the ball around and limited its mistakes against the Blue Devils, committing just eight turnovers. However, its 12-for-32 performance at the faceoff X, including a 2-for-12 output from Danny Varello, gave Duke enough opportunities to keep the game close.

Cue redshirt sophomore Nick Martin, who entered the game late in the fourth quarter and won five straight crucial faceoffs, one of which ended in the Trimboli game-winner.

Brendan Bomberry led the way with four goals, including two late in the fourth quarter. Brendan Curry, Stephen Rehfuss and Trimboli all added a pair of scores in the win. In his second game since being demoted to the second-line midfield, Peter Dearth scored his first goal of the season.

Four of the five ACC teams are ranked inside the Top 20: No. 5 Duke, No. 7 Notre Dame, No. 10 Syracuse and No. 12 Virginia. North Carolina received votes but is riding a four-game losing streak.

The Orange will return home to host conference rival Notre Dame on Saturday at 5 p.m. inside the Carrier Dome.
