Syracuse softball hired Will Loredo as an assistant coach, the team announced via social media on Thursday. He joins Sydney O’Hara as the only other assistant on head coach Shannon Doepking’s staff.
Previously, Loredo was an assistant at Amherst during the 2022 season. He guided the Mammoths to their first-ever New England Small College Athletic Conference title after they finished 26-9.
Last season, Loredo served as the interim coach for Amherst in the wake of its former head coach Jessica Johnson announcing her retirement. He led the program to a 24-13 season, finishing second in the NESCAC.
Before his time at Amherst, Loredo was an associate offensive coordinator and outfield coach at Claremont-Mudd-Scripps College from 2018-20. The following year, he worked as an assistant coach and catching coordinator for Southern Nevada.
He also spent time as manager of the Grand Terrace High School (Ca.) softball program, where he won a California state championship in 2016. Loredo even has international experience, coaching professionally in Germany and serving as a consultant on the country’s 19U National Team.
